We are collaborating with our client, a major Big Four bank headquartered in Melbourne, to find a Distinguished Engineer to join their Executive Technology Leadership Team. You will be pivotal in shaping the technology vision, establishing and delivering advanced technical engineering capabilities, and steering key technical decisions within the domain. As a Senior Manager, Distinguished Engineer, you will have a crucial role in defining how services are delivered to customers. You will establish and deliver cutting-edge technical engineering capabilities while steering key technical decisions across the domain. Your ability to adapt to changing priorities, emerging technologies, and evolving operational requirements will be essential in identifying the right technology solutions. Work with a matrix team of technologists, engineering managers, solution designers, technical analysts, service compliance, and quality engineers. Key Responsibilities: Align and enable how services are delivered to customers, including the technology vision for the roadmap. Establish and deliver advanced technical engineering capabilities. Drive key technical decision-making across the domain. Adapt to changing priorities, emerging technologies, and evolving operational requirements. Support continuous improvement of service maturity through various initiatives. What You Bring: The ideal candidate for this Senior Manager, Distinguished Engineer role is a seasoned technologist with a balance of delivery outcomes and technologies. You have a proven track record of engaging senior stakeholders necessary for transformational change. Your passion for technology is reflected in your desire to stay current with the latest trends, including AI, Data Engineering, and NextGenAI. Proven experience as a hands-on technologist - AWS, Java, Databricks, PySpark, and building, deploying applications using CI & CD tools. Experience and knowledge in Data Engineering, Machine Learning, and/or GenAI capabilities. Experience across Architecture, DevOps, Platform Engineering. Expert in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting major portions of a production stack.
