As the Senior Manager – Personal Conflicts you will play a crucial role in mitigating personal conflicts in the Group Control Room (GCR) and ensuring compliance across Westpac. Reporting directly to the Practice Lead, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, overseeing, and conducting effective conflict resolution strategies as well as risk management frameworks and controls to ensure regulatory compliance, and safeguarding the bank’s reputation. With your meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, you will directly assess complex personal conflicts and assist the broader GCR team, as well as advising on operational and risk strategies to be uplifted. You will proactively identify and address potential personal conflicts of interest including but not limited to: Personal Trading External Business Interests Close Personal Relationship conflicts Other compliance issues across various business units Further key responsibilities include: Develop and implement conflict management policies, procedures, best practices, and controls to ensure policy adherence and address personal conflicts effectively Collaborate with cross-functional teams and create rapport with internal stakeholders and provide expertise in relation to conflicts management Develop and deliver training programs and workshops related to conflict resolution, emphasising personal conflicts management and resolution Conduct thorough investigations into reporting incidents Analyse datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that drive conflicts risk and compliance Stay up to date with relevant regulatory changes and industry trends related to conflict management Prepare and present regular reports on conflict management activities to the Practice Lead – Personal Conflicts and relevant committees as necessary What do I need? To be successful in this role, you must be an experienced Control Room Conflicts of Interest professional with demonstrable experience in assessing Personal, Organisational, or other Conflicts of Interest. You must also be an experienced risk adviser, where it is highly beneficial to have second line risk advisory experience, or be from a legal background. Other advantageous attributes include: Critical thinking skills and adaptability to assess complex situations in varying contexts Strong organisational and prioritisation skills with high attention to detail Ability to work autonomously while being an effective team player Analytical and problem-solving abilities Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data management software How do I apply?
