We’re focused on supporting Victorians to be as healthy as they can; whether through alerting them to seasonal risks like thunderstorm asthma, notifying them of contact with communicable diseases, safeguarding their drinking water, developing the best health, wellbeing and care facilities in the world, being at the forefront of mental health and wellbeing treatment or accelerating medical research. About the role: The Senior Manager, Health Service Third Party Revenue plays a critical role in maximising revenue for Health Services. This involves coordinating, developing, and implementing strategies to optimize income from various sources, including Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS), private patient fees, Transport Accident Commission (TAC) claims, and Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) funding. This role leads the development of sector-facing components for third-party revenue initiatives, encompassing design, analytics, engagement, communication, and implementation. By providing expert advice and developing compelling third-party revenue initiatives, this position supports the financial sustainability and objectives of Hospitals Victoria and the broader health sector. This position is pivotal in a specialist unit dedicated to driving financial improvement and capability across Victoria's health services. The Senior Manager, Financial Improvement and Capability reports directly to the Director, Financial Improvement & Capability. Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate: Knowledge and Skills Leadership: Builds team commitment by demonstrating personal conviction; translates organisational strategy into meaningful long-term plans and objectives for own area of responsibility; motivates others to deliver against goals. Financial Acumen: Demonstrated experience in the provision of financial support within complex organisations and ability to see the big picture and align funding and revenue strategies with the health service's operational performance and outcomes. Commercial Skills: Undertakes and acts on cost benefit analysis; knowledgeable about financial issues and responsibilities; proactively seeks more efficient ways of doing things; focuses on activities and projects that will bring the best business return for the team and organisation. Written Communication and Presentation Skills: Prepares complex briefs, letters, emails and reports using clear, concise and grammatically correct language; edits written communications to ensure they contain the information necessary to achieve their purpose and meet audience needs; ensures appropriate style and formats are used. Personal Qualities Conceptual and Analytical Ability: Deals with concepts and complexity comfortably; uses analytical and conceptual skills to reason through problems; has creative ideas and can project how these can link to innovations. Qualifications / Specialist Expertise Qualifications: An appropriate tertiary qualification in project management, health, accounting, commerce, economics, political science, public administration or public policy. A high degree of understanding and knowledge of the Victorian budget processes, health system operations and funding, relevant departmental systems and environments is desirable. Specialist Expertise: Exceptional advisory, negotiation, communication and relationship building skills, with demonstrated capacity to work effectively within a politically sensitive context. Knowledge of the Victorian public hospital operations, and the impact of government funding, policy and reform on operations.
