The Company Gunn Agri Partners (GAP) was established in 2013 and provides agricultural investment and farm management services for Australian, North American and European investors. Gunn Agri Partners adopts an industry-leading framework that integrates sustainability in the design and delivery of its strategies and a mandate to transparently report against investor’s target outcomes. GAP manages approx. $1.05B of assets and commitments managed by the following platforms: Gunn Agri Cattle Fund: northern Australian grass-fed cattle, row cropping and natural asset development. The operating entity established in 2015 is Cunningham Cattle Co. Pty Ltd. Wollemi Farms: investing in permanent crop assets such as macadamias, avocados, and stone fruit across the eastern seaboard of Australia. The operating entity established in 2021 is Wollemi Farms Pty Ltd. Transforming Farming: mixed farming enterprises, which includes the development of natural assets such as carbon sequestration and biodiversity. The operating entity established in 2021 is Faulkner Farming Pty Ltd. Wilga Farming (Australia): mixed farming enterprises, which includes the development of natural assets such as carbon sequestration and biodiversity. The operating entity established in 2023 is Wilga Farming (Australia) Pty Ltd. As the dedicated investment manager, Gunn Agri Partners has oversight of the operating platforms and the employees within those organisations. The Position The Senior Manager - Natural Capital role is a senior leadership role, responsible for the oversight of natural capital projects and sustainability management frameworks. This includes identifying environmental market opportunities, oversight of GAP's Asset Sustainability Plans (including implementation and reporting), supporting portfolio targeting for natural capital outcomes, delivery of GAP’s Carbon Services and development and implementation of environment market projects including carbon, biodiversity and where relevant, renewable energy projects. The Senior Manager - Natural Capital provides leadership in ensuring our strategic direction and delivering our mandate of sustainability and natural capital objectives to investors. The main interactions for the role will be with the Managing Directors, the Platform General Managers and asset management teams. Key Responsibilities: Natural Capital Management Framework: Lead the natural capital and sustainability team, develop strategies for relevant assets, and mentor teams on natural capital, biodiversity, and sustainability management. Natural Capital and Biodiversity Projects: Develop and manage natural capital and biodiversity projects, oversee credit generation activities, and support the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices. Establishment of the GAP Carbon Services Business: delivery of services for GAP carbon projects, coordinate services across platforms, and engage with industry policy and regulations. Mapping and Data Management: Manage GIS implementation, support mapping software use, oversee data management processes, and provide business intelligence reporting. Reporting: Implement the sustainability reporting framework, ensuring accurate monitoring and data integrity across teams. Compliance & Control: Ensure timely accounting and reporting, maintaining up-to-date records for relevant activities. External Liaison: Liaise with external service providers and represent Gunn Agri Partners at sustainability and investor events. Process Improvement: Promote process improvements, innovative thinking, and efficiency in natural capital management and reporting. The Candidate To be successful in the role, the candidate will demonstrate the following: Tertiary qualifications in Agriculture, Natural Resources, Sustainability, Business Management, Horticulture or similar. Strong knowledge and understanding of agricultural production, sustainability practices and business processes. Demonstrated project management experience including budgets and external consultant engagement and oversight. Previous experience in sustainability, ecology, natural capital assets or related fields. High level of attention to detail and accustomed to scientific methodology and rigour. Demonstrated experience in data collection, analytics, interpretation, technical reporting and report writing. Understanding of integrated livestock production with sustainability outcomes. Knowledge of policy and regulatory frameworks related to livestock & cropping production. High level proficiency in the Microsoft office suite and GIS/mapping apps. Demonstrated experience in field-based sustainability project work. Previous experience working in a corporate environment is preferred but not essential. Proven ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships. Superior time management and prioritisation skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong team orientation and the ability to work with and through others to achieve results. Current driver’s licence and ability to undertake frequent travel. The role is available to be based at our offices in Sydney or Albury or consideration will be given to working at home from a regional location. There will be a requirement to regularly travel to the farms and or the support office if working remotely. An attractive salary package will be negotiable with the successful candidate based on experience and qualifications. Flexibility of hours will be offered.
