The organisation has been operating since 1826. Based in our Chifley Square Office in Sydney CBD and reporting into the General Manager – Events, Partnerships and Strategy, the Senior Manager - Partnerships will play a key role in ensuring Business NSW hits its member support and revenue goals. Main responsibilities include: Contribute to meeting and exceeding sponsorship targets for Business NSW event program by delivering target margin on all relevant Business NSW events including conferences, webinars, workshops, and our State Business Awards. Contribute to meeting and exceeding partnership revenue target by achieving commission and profit-share goals for Business NSW member offers. Identify, research, and cultivate relationships with potential sponsors and partners. Ensure all potential partnership opportunities support member needs where required, align with the vision and purpose of Business NSW, align with our policy and advocacy programs, and do not compete with any similar internal or partnership offering. Work with General Manager and other internal stakeholders to provide an initial opportunity assessment and conduct a risk analysis of a potential partner. Build and nurture deep, long-term relationships with sponsors, partners, and advertisers, fostering open communication, trust, and mutual success. Collaborate with membership team to identify events, products and communications supporting engagement between partners and members which deliver mutual benefit. Liaise with Strategic Partnership, Industry and Trade and Alliances Manager to ensure relevant partnership offers are communicated to allied industry associations. Regularly review all partnerships and test the market to ensure any member offers are best in class. Review and report member feedback of partnerships. Ensure smooth and efficient coordination between the partnerships team and other key internal stakeholders such as membership team, events team, policy team, marketing team, and others as required. Requirements The main requirement for this role is a proven track record and experience in partnerships, sponsorships and business development. Other requirements include: Ideally Tertiary Qualifications (e.g. Bachelors Degree) in a business related field and/or relevant and equivalent industry experience. Strong stakeholder management experience – internal and external stakeholders. Strong verbal communication skills with an ability to confidently liaise at executive levels. Ability to write and communicate in written form to a very high standard. Exceptional planning, organisational and time management skills. Strong negotiation, interpersonal, relationship building, and influencing skills, with high EQ (Emotional Intelligence). Knowledge of small to medium business marketplace. Demonstrate service-oriented approach, enthusiastic, motivated, positive attitude, good initiative, and a self-starter. Demonstrate business acumen. Results driven and oriented with proven track record. An interest in public policy and advocacy with a keen passion to help business owners grow and succeed.
