About the Team When you join the Infrastructure Projects team, you'll join a group of professionals delivering Australia's future rail network. To help grow rail transport in Australia, the team is focused on ensuring the delivery of critical construction projects across the country, including implementation of our $1 billion Network Investment Program that we've developed with the Australian Government. Whether it's designing, building or maintaining crucial rail infrastructure, the team plays a pivotal role in our ongoing efforts to improve network resilience and keep the future of freight on track. About the Opportunity Reporting to the Director Infrastructure Projects, the Senior Manager Project Services plays a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of ARTC's critical infrastructure projects. This position leads a multidisciplinary team across various domains, including commercial/legal, finance, procurement, corporate affairs and stakeholder engagement, health and safety, environment, marketing, project controls, document control, IT, and audit. The role is responsible for aligning internal and external resources with project demands, developing procurement strategies, and ensuring governance and compliance standards are upheld. With a focus on performance, this role ensures the delivery of high-quality project documentation and data-driven insights to inform key decisions and stakeholder communication. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Working closely with IP peers to understand, challenge and refine project baselines of scope, cost, schedule, benefits, risk and opportunity. Collaborating with business leaders using ARTC's matrix operating model to secure functional resources in line with project timelines and demands. Implementing and managing strategies for supply chain engagement and delivery models. Managing project governance processes, including Stage Gates, baseline change control, and lessons learned. Managing engagement activities with supply chain, project stakeholders, and shareholders. Overseeing the production of high-quality reports, studies, and submissions with input from stakeholders, ensuring deadlines and professional standards are met. Developing project updates and reports, which utilise available data sets and provide useful insights. This role can be based out of our Sydney, Melbourne or Adelaide offices. What do we want from you? You are an accomplished senior leader with extensive experience in overseeing complex projects from inception to handover, providing seamless support and representation for senior management as needed. Your strong foundation in health, safety, and environmental practices, particularly in rail, operations, or construction, ensures compliance and excellence in project delivery. Key Strengths and Expertise required to fulfil this role: Skilled in managing competing interests, risks, and priorities to maintain alignment with project baselines. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to build and sustain relationships across diverse stakeholder groups. Commercially adept, with expertise in working through all phases of the project lifecycle. Proficient in using data to inform decision-making and assess performance outcomes. Proven leadership in managing multidisciplinary teams, driving change, and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. Possess degree qualifications in a relevant field such as Commerce, Construction Management, or Engineering. Experience with regional and remote operations or projects (highly desirable).
