Are you an experienced senior Sustainability professional and looking for your next opportunity within a progressive and diverse business? We currently have a full-time, permanent opportunity, for a Senior Manager, Sustainability to join our collaborative and supportive team. This role will enable you to have influence and impact on Perenti’s sustainability initiatives. Reporting to the Vice President Safety and Sustainability, The Senior Manager, Sustainability is responsible for supporting the strategy and continual improvement in the sustainability performance of Perenti. The role is critical in the development and maintenance of the sustainability strategy, framework, standards and initiatives. Key Accountabilities will include: Lead a small team to support the development and implementation of the company-wide Sustainability strategic objectives, sustainability standard, policies and initiatives. Develop and partner with the operating business to roll-out social performance expectations including those related to human rights, community and Indigenous engagement and community investment. Lead the delivery of Annual Sustainability Report and Modern Slavery Statement as required. Manage the delivery of outcomes on regulatory reporting and data governance. Contribute to preparation of materials for the Safety and Sustainability Committee of the Board and Group Executive Committee (GEC). Participate in industry member associations and working groups regarding sustainability issues. Support the development and execution of a group-wide decarbonisation plan. Organise the internal sustainability working group. Plan and manage internal sustainability awareness campaigns. Drive community engagement and internal events including It’s not Ok, NAIDOC Week, International Women’s Day and more. Drive enhanced disclosure practices and investor engagement. Undertake site inspections and audits as required. Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in environmental and sustainability management across the Group. Collaborate with the internal audit and operational HSE functions to support the design and implementation of an assurance program to verify the effective implementation of sustainability related standards. Support and coach Sustainability Advisor team members. Key skills and experience required for you to thrive in this role will include: Tertiary qualifications in Environment/Sustainability/Social related discipline or equivalent experience. Minimum 4-5 years’ experience in a sustainability focused lead role. Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in environmental/sustainability/community relations management in the mining or related industry. Proven ability to pivot between strategic leadership and operational function. Demonstrated experience in sustainability reporting, ASRS, GRI other global standards and reporting frameworks. Eager to continually develop in-depth technical understanding of new sustainability topics. An effective communicator and influencer with the ability to engage, negotiate and build relationships across all levels. Excellent attention to detail, demonstrated in prior experience with corporate governance, data and reporting. What we offer: Located close to public transport in a great central location.
