About the role We’re building a best-in-class in-house performance marketing function. This is a career-defining opportunity to shape the future of digital media strategy for Coles Supermarkets. As Senior Marketing Manager – Performance, you’ll be responsible for leading performance marketing across programmatic, search, and social channels, ensuring our campaigns are data-driven, high-performing, and aligned with Coles’ customer and business objectives. You’ll manage a team of five and play a key role in shaping our technology, processes, and strategic approach. What You’ll Do Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager - Performance you’ll: Drive the performance of our digital media strategy across programmatic, search, and social. Oversee quality output and campaign execution, ensuring best practices in account structures and optimisation. Review media manager reports, providing insights and strategic direction. Communicate quarterly and annual progress to senior management and external stakeholders. Foster collaboration and mentorship within the team, ensuring performance excellence. Stay ahead of industry trends, implementing new strategies and technologies. Develop and implement training programs to upskill the team. About you and your skills This is a high-impact leadership role, perfect for someone who thrives on innovation, change, and technical excellence. Coming from an agency or in-house, you’re a Senior Marketing Manager Performance, a Performance Director, Head of Performance, or Performance MD. Importantly you demonstrate extensive experience in digital advertising platforms including SA360, DV360/TTD, CM360, Google Ads, Bing Ads, Apple Search Ads, and Meta (Facebook and Instagram). You’ll also have: Knowledge of affiliate marketing programs like Stockard and Shopfully and cashback platforms such as ShopBack. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to generate reports and insights using digital platforms. Proven experience in creating and executing digital media strategies that drive ROI. A track record of leading and mentoring teams, fostering collaboration and high performance. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders. Budget management expertise and strong strategic thinking skills. A deep understanding of retail and trade marketing, with experience driving customer-focused performance strategies.
