Senior Mathematics Teacher $5000 incentive Job posted: 28/01/2025 Wallan Secondary College (WSC) is a Year 7 to 12 Secondary College situated in Wallan, 50 kilometres north of Melbourne, in the Mitchell Shire one of the fastest growing areas outside of the Melbourne Central Business District (CBD). The College opened in 2006 with 110 students and has seen strong enrolment growth, with current student numbers exceeding 850. WSC offers a wide range of programs for all ability levels, with a strong emphasis on core subjects: English, Mathematics, Science, and Humanities, complemented by programs in the Arts, Music, Health and Physical Education, and Technology. A variety of Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) and Vocational Education and Training (VET) subjects are also provided. Selection Criteria SC1 Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate teaching literacy and numeracy skills. SC2 Demonstrated experience in planning and implementing high impact teaching strategies. SC3 Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning. SC4 Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills. SC5 Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values. Role The classroom teacher classification comprises two salary ranges- range 1 and range 2. The primary focus of the classroom teacher is on the planning, preparation, and teaching of programs to achieve specific student outcomes. Responsibilities The role of classroom teacher may include but is not limited to: Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students; Contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of a curriculum area; Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings; staff meetings; camps and excursions; Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.
