Medical Melbourne Full Time 5D Clinics Australia Permanent full-time opportunity Exciting opportunity to work on advanced delivery systems including the first CyberKnife centre on Australia’s East Coast Potential for growth in future Icon Group centres About the Role: An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Radiation Oncology Medical Physicist to join Icon Group based in Melbourne, Victoria. This role will provide essential support to our radiotherapy practices ensuring the highest standards of patient care. You'll be a key member of Icon’s broad network of medical physicists supporting innovation through hardware and software at Icon radiation oncology sites nationwide.Alongside supporting the medical physics operational requirements of our Icon Cancer Centre sites in Melbourne, this position will also play a pivotal role in establishing the first Accuray Cyberknife centre on Australia’s East Coast (Cremorne, Melbourne), through Icon Groups collaboration with 5D Clinics. This role will initially work closely with Icon’s Development & Implementation team (Med Phys) and our colleagues at 5D Clinics, to ensure a smooth commissioning and ‘go live’ phase. The successful candidate will be a content expert on both CyberKnife and Elekta Gamma Knife systems and is expected to play a key role in Icon Groups ‘Advanced Delivery Systems’ working group. Within this structure, the candidate will ensure best practice and standardisation is maintained to enable safe and efficient expansion, as Icon expands its growth of these services in the future.Icon Group currently has nine Icon Cancer Centres in Victoria, with six in the greater Melbourne area. Equipment available at sites includes: Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerators with Varian Identify SGRT, Varian Halcyon Linear Accelerators, and Siemens CT scanners with Varian RGSC. Treatment methods include Varian HyperArc, advanced motion management packages, and SGRT based treatments, and an active stereotactic program. Icon Cancer Centres operate in a paperless environment utilising networked Aria oncology management and Eclipse treatment planning systems. We also have a range of modern software to aid in automation and efficiency including Mobius 3D, RadMachine, and AutoContour. LDR and HDR Brachytherapy programmes are also active in Melbourne.A full suite of Physics QA equipment is also available on-site and our national Medical Physics team operates utilising online collaborative workspaces such as Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.The Salary and Professional Development package is under the Integrated Clinical Oncology Network Pty Ltd Victorian Medical Physicists Enterprise Agreement. If deemed suitable, a one-off relocation package may be available.About You: We seek a highly motivated individual with a positive and enthusiastic attitude, ready to take on an integral role in the operational management of day-to-day physics activities as well as provide technical Medical Physics expertise across our network. You should have a demonstrated ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary environment and contribute to the development and implementation of new technologies.
