Job location This position is located at the Community Forensic Mental Health Service (CFMHS) in Clifton Hill, 15 minutes from Melbourne’s city centre. CFMHS is a specialist state-wide agency that works with individuals who have a serious mental health illness and have offended or are at risk of offending. Our CFMHS Service is soon to be expanding our services to Regional Victoria with Barwon services the first region being commenced. About the Role: The CTT Senior Mental Health Clinician, as part of a multidisciplinary team, oversees a case load of clients who have been discharged from TEH who require linkage support to area mental health service in the short term (clients on Treatment Orders) as well as the case management of Forensic Patients, clients who are subject to a custodial supervision order (CSO) who have been granted Extended Leave by the courts to reside in the community. The role also involves providing in-reach support to patients and clinical teams at TEH in relation to community transition via the provisions of advice and secondary consultations on discharge plans, extended leave legal processes etc. Duties: Provide high quality intensive support of treatment ordered clients post discharge and case management of clients subject to Custodial Supervision Orders (CSO) on Extended Leave. Provide high quality assessment and intervention for high risk clients in the community, including the formulation of initial and ongoing risk assessments of clients to develop risk management, crisis plans and comprehensive care. Prepare case managed clients for court and engage in all relevant court/legal processes in relation to the Mental Health Act 2014, Crimes (Mental Impairment and Unfitness to be tried) Act 1997 and the Sentencing Act 1991. Participate on an advisory level, in the intra-hospital transfer or discharge planning of patients from TEH. Provide support and education to carers in the ongoing treatment and care of the client. About You: Demonstrated commitment to mental health consumer recovery and an understanding of recovery principles and its application to mental health. A minimum of 5 years post qualification experience within Mental Health, preferably recent experience in community mental health setting or a demonstration of significant and extensive experience working within a clinical mental health capacity. Approved degree in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Psychiatric Nursing or Psychology, registered with AHPRA or have other qualifications approved for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers. Knowledge of community-based resources, including drug and alcohol and accommodation services. What you need: This is a multi-disciplined position requiring specific qualifications within your area and can include: Nursing Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing or equivalent. Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA). Occupational Therapy Approved degree in Occupational Therapy recognised for membership of Occupational Therapy Australia – Australian Association of Occupational Therapists. Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA). Psychology Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited course or equivalent, or a Doctorate degree in Forensic Psychology from an APS accredited course or equivalent. Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA). Social Work Approved degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers. The successful candidate will be required to register their qualifications on eCredential. Important Notes: This position is subject to a Police Check. Influenza and Immunisation Evidence required.
