Role details The Greater Whitsunday Mental Health Service at the Proserpine Community Health Centre is seeking applications for a Senior Mental Health Clinician to join their team on a permanent basis. Your opportunity As a member of the Greater Whitsundays Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Service, this position will deliver high quality evidence based clinical services to consumers presenting with mental health issues in a rural setting. This will include intake/triage, clinical assessments, evidence based therapeutic interventions and treatments as well as case management, group/family work across the service's programs as required. To provide professional leadership and support the Team Leader in the coordination of all clinical services for the Greater Whitsundays Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Service. This position reports operationally to the Team Leader, Greater Whitsunday Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Service, and professionally reports through the CCS Program Manager/Allied Health Director Mental Health and AODS to Discipline Director in the MHHS. About The Team This position is part of the Greater Whitsunday Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Service and involves providing mental health and AOD services to outreach sites of the Whitsunday region including Airlie Beach, Cannonvale, Bowen and Collinsville. The position is based in Proserpine. There is the expectation that successful applicant would travel to Mackay for training as required. The Greater Whitsunday team comprises several programs: Child and Youth Service providing intake, assessment, treatment and case management services to young people (and families/supports) with moderate to severe mental health issues. Adult Service providing triage, assessment, goal & evidence based therapeutic intervention and treatment, and case management service for adults experiencing mental health issues in the rural setting. Intake/triage, assessment and crisis intervention to individuals who experience mental disorder within the Mackay Hospital and Health Service geographical area. Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (AODs) providing specialist intake, assessment, intervention and community maintenance/aftercare for people experiencing challenges with Alcohol and Other Drug use.
