The operations include block caving, sub-level caving and open pit and was the first mine in Australia to use the block cave mining method. We’re committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace with a long mine life and a vision of a century of mining together. This roster is 5/2 or 5/2 4/3, 38 hour week / 76 hour fortnight. About the role The Senior Mining Engineer – Block Cave is accountable for developing short- and medium-term mine plans, including mine design, scheduling, and forecasting for production and development activities within the Block Cave. This role ensures the successful completion of all technical aspects related to underground production and development, driving the achievement of operational targets. The Senior Mining Engineer will also lead and coordinate the efforts of the mining engineering team, ensuring effective collaboration and the timely delivery of key outcomes. Develop mine plans that align with business objectives, ensuring the generation of annual production and development forecasts within corporate timeframes for budget preparation. Coordinate the interface between operations and planning teams to ensure activity levels and budgets are met efficiently. Continuously challenge and encourage decision-making with a focus on meeting and exceeding targets, while driving improvements in mine planning related to safety, production, and cost efficiency. Provide clear direction for the tactical planning of underground operations, including cave management, mine ventilation and short- to medium-term planning functions. About you Experienced mining professional with a track record of success at the operational and planning level in metalliferous mining. Cave mining experience. Recognised and relevant tertiary degree (e.g., Bachelor of Science / Engineering in Mining, Geology or Geological / Geotechnical Engineering).
