Job Description
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the provision of professional and expert (Level 3) IT Network and Security technical support to clients, in the delivery of contracted Managed Services to the South Australian Government. The Senior Engineer will have a responsibility to guide and mentor less experienced engineers and lead a Managed Services team through the provision of high level, quality technical guidance. They will form equally critical relationships with their customers, understanding the role network and security technologies and services support their business and providing important, timely technical advice and support. Technical Knowledge / Skills Highly developed problem solving, architectural and deployment skills Sound depth and knowledge across multiple infrastructure disciplines Demonstrated ability to work in Enterprise Accounts with more than 100 users and more than 30 logical servers High level experience in level 3 technical work disciplines Sound understanding of industry best practice and technical issues in their areas of knowledge Understands the client’s business goals and can develop aligned solutions. Qualifications (Essential) A recognised Computer Science degree or relevant IT vocational qualification, with around 6 years’ industry experience is essential, or equivalent. Certifications and Experience (Essential and / or Desirable) Current certification within two separate knowledge domains is essential . Network and Security certifications are essential (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE or industry standard equivalent) Strong ability to work as an individual and as part of a team. Experience with a range of vendor network and security devices. Experience with large and midsize networks. Security certifications will be added advantage. Working in support of South Australian Government IT Networks and Security – Desirable.
