Job Description

The Senior Officer - Parks Infrastructure assists in providing team leadership and delivery of park infrastructure projects, maintenance and safety inspections in Darebin’s parks and open spaces. They will also assist and guide replacement and renewal of park assets, strategy on open space management and utilise relevant systems and software to achieve Council objectives. About the Role The Senior Officer - Parks Infrastructure ensures the effective and efficient delivery of park programs, infrastructure management, and services throughout the municipality. The role assists in managing a small team and multiple portfolios. Portfolio areas include but are not limited to the management of parks infrastructure throughout all parks and reserves, playspaces, sportsgrounds, and facility open spaces. This role assists in leading teams in a manner that harnesses the cooperation of staff to constructively drive service improvements and foster a performance-oriented culture. A key part of this role is to contribute to longer-term strategic planning as well as the delivery of day-to-day operations of Darebin Infrastructure, Operations, and finance team. This role has a strong commitment to partnering with Traditional Owners, community, and stakeholders to enable the sustainability of the environment and urgency around addressing climate emergency and social justice.
