About the Role: This is a Fixed Term Part Time position to cover Parental Leave for 12 months at 48 hours per fortnight within the Department of Ophthalmology. The Senior Orthoptist Collaborative Coordinator role is predominantly administrative, but is responsible for a combination of non-clinical and ad hoc clinical duties. We are seeking an experienced Orthoptist with several years' experience in paediatric orthoptics, with highly developed clinical and communication skills. This role requires you to have a strong attention to detail, be highly organised and possess demonstrated abilities in meeting deadlines and performing both as a team member and independently. What you'll achieve: Coordinate and manage the day to day responsibilities associated with the RCH Department of Ophthalmology collaborative models of ophthalmic care. Initiate and facilitate patient discharge or collaborative care in line with department guidelines. Maintain a close working relationship with the external collaborative care providers. Lead by example in the delivery of a high standard of orthoptic care. Maintain timely and accurate record keeping including collaborative care documentation, clinical assessments, treatment aims, interventions, outcomes and patient-related advice. Your skills and experience: Bachelor of Applied Science (Orthoptics) or equivalent. Registered with the Australian Orthoptic Board (AOB). Extensive experience in paediatric orthoptics.
