Learn more about us and what we do at awaresuper.com.au Your New Role OPEN TO MELBOURNE OR SYDNEY BASED The Senior Portfolio Manager of Managed Equity is an integral role within the Public Market Equity (PME). This team oversees over A$100bn in Aware Super's listed equities sectors, aiming to meet or exceed return objectives within defined risk and fee parameters. Some of your key accountabilities will include: Leading the Managed Equities team within the Public Market Equity sector to deliver strong, consistent net-of-fees risk-adjusted sector return. Leading strategic research and implementation related to capital allocation, portfolio construction, risk management, and manager research, supported by data analytics and industry best practices. Responsible for ongoing management of portfolio exposures, risks, and opportunities across the aggregate public equity portfolio. Enhancing and expanding investment capabilities and investment processes of the Managed Equity team. Developing and mentoring team members, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and open communication. Supporting the Head of Public Market Equity on broader sector-wide strategic planning projects and initiatives to drive our vision and objectives. To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience: Relevant advanced degree in finance or a related discipline. CFA or similar professional designation. Extensive experience (20+ years) in multi-manager portfolio construction and implementation, covering both Australian and international equities. Detailed knowledge of portfolio theory and optimization techniques. Strong quantitative skills and analytical capabilities, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial data platforms (e.g., FactSet, Bloomberg) and risk-management tools (e.g., Barra, Axioma). Demonstrated skill in effective communication and collaboration across diverse stakeholder groups. Strong presentation skills and ability to transform complex investment concepts into clear, actionable strategies and written solutions.
