Job Description

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer to join our client's growing process team, focusing on water and wastewater treatment projects across Australia and America. This role is ideal for a highly skilled professional who can drive process design, optimisation, and implementation for municipal and industrial water infrastructure projects. You will be working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable and innovative solutions to water challenges.Key Responsibilities: Lead process design and optimisation for water and wastewater treatment plants. Conduct process modelling, simulations, and feasibility studies to improve treatment performance. Develop technical specifications, process flow diagrams (PFDs), and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs). Provide expert guidance on emerging technologies, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency improvements. Collaborate with project managers, civil, mechanical, and electrical engineers to ensure integrated design solutions. Participate in site assessments, commissioning, and troubleshooting of treatment facilities. Engage with clients, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives align with environmental and legislative requirements. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives within the organisation. Key Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical, Environmental, or Process Engineering (or a related discipline). 8+ years of experience in water and wastewater process engineering, including treatment plant design and optimisation. Strong understanding of Australian water regulations and industry standards (e.g., ADWG, ANZECC, WSAA). Proficiency in process modelling software such as Biowin, GPS-X, or similar. Experience with membrane filtration, biological treatment, desalination, and advanced oxidation processes is highly regarded. Ability to lead projects, liaise with clients, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or working towards accreditation is advantageous.
