Hays Parramatta, New South Wales, Australia Senior Procurement Category Specialist This well-established education provider, based in Parramatta, is looking for a multi-skilled, well-experienced, and diverse Senior Procurement Category Specialist. 4 Month initial Contract. Strong view to Perm after. WFH/Hybrid available - 5 days a fortnight in Office. Your new role The Senior Procurement Category Specialist is accountable for developing and implementing wide, commercially sound procurement disciplines including category management and supplier contract management across predominately indirect categories. Responsibilities: Developing and managing relationships with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and ensuring category management solutions are appropriate for current and future business needs. Identifying opportunities to deliver value in strategic and significant procurement through spend analytics, gathering category/market intelligence, and communicating with the schools community. Defining and delivering Category Management Plans and allocating spend categories amongst the Procurement team. Conducting end-to-end sourcing and significant procurement processes. Conducting formal supplier reviews to ensure that all contracts are providing the highest level of service delivery and return on investment, collaborating with stakeholders to manage supplier relationships. Assessing purchasing data and exploring opportunities to reduce costs through consolidating vendors. Understand and contribute to the delivery and continuous improvement of relevant strategic initiatives and operational plans. Engage in continuous learning and contribute positively to a collaborative and respectful working environment aligned with the culture and values. What you'll need to succeed Vast experience in a Senior Category/Procurement Management related role is a must. Diverse / broad Category experience across multiple Categories. Diverse / Broad industry experience (ranging across Public, Private, Not for Profit, Education etc). Category Management Framework expertise. Any Change management / Greenfield environment project experience very beneficial. Thorough knowledge and understanding of contemporary best practice approaches to strategic procurement, category management. High level Stakeholder Engagement experience. Experience in tendering and procurement (including transaction management and tender evaluation). What you'll get in return This role is an initial 4-month contract position. With strong potential to go Permanent beyond this. Paying up to $800-$850 + super, per day.
