We are looking for an experienced Senior PO for a 12-month Fixed term contract role. What’s your role? The Senior Product Owner for Data Platform Growth is a data leadership role, delivering a World-class data platform, tools to help data professionals do their best work and fit-for-purpose products that enable an insight-driven organisation whilst enabling frictionless compliance and safeguarding our customers data. The Senior PO will lead the discovery and prioritisation of features that advance how data and analytics is delivered across Bupa today, with a focus on engineering productivity and impact of the data workforce. As an accomplished change agent and practitioner of lean, agile ways of working you will be passionate about change and creating products that our end users in the data and analytics community use to model, forecast, make decisions and transform healthcare. With strong Product Owner experience, you will have deep data domain expertise and a proven track record of agile delivery. You will consult extensively with our end users and stakeholders across Bupa to translate our data strategy into products reflective of our customers needs and priorities. You will drive our next phase of maturity beyond platform establishment and growth of data assets into our Run State - including platform maturity, reliability engineering, education and user growth, operational management and finally, you will introduce new or improved products that will drive the growth and use of our strategic data platform. Your experience as a leader in these disciplines will make you someone our experienced Engineering team can look to for wisdom and thought leadership. What will my day involve? Strategy and Roadmap: Collaborate with stakeholders and key partners across the organisation to take our Data Crew Roadmap and make it actionable features that achieve outcomes for our end users. Feature Prioritisation: Gather insights through market research, user feedback, and usage analytics to identify and prioritise high-impact features and enhancements, with an emphasis on leveraging Azure and Databricks to deliver World-class solutions. Product Discovery: Lead product discovery efforts by collaborating with stakeholders, platform users, and technical experts to explore new opportunities driven by business and customer demands, create working prototypes to validate solution feasibility, and desirability from end users. Agile Development: Lead a predominantly Data Engineering-based team through the development process, ensuring timely and successful delivery of features and capabilities. Adoption & Engagement: Champion user adoption and engagement through effective communication, training, and support initiatives, with a focus on empowering users to leverage Azure and Databricks effectively. OKR Driven: Establish and track objectives and key results to articulate delivery success. Service Management & Monitoring: Leverage existing service management tools to identify areas for improvement, paying particular attention to the performance and adoption of the Bupa Data Platform. Vendor Management: Manage relationships with third-party vendors and partners, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance within the Azure and Databricks ecosystem. Concept Management: From idea to working prototype, a trusted subject matter expert to guide our technology strategy and ensure we are employing the best technology for the job at hand. What will I bring? Senior Product Management Experience: Strong demonstrated experience as a product owner or product manager in the data platforms space, with a preference for experience working with Azure and Databricks. Platform Building Expertise: Proven track record of building and growing data platforms from the ground up and/or significantly expanding existing ones. This should include experience in defining the platform vision, strategy, and roadmap, as well as leading the execution of its development and deployment. Demonstrable experience in driving SRE Practices, DevOps and/or DevSecOps maturity. Emotionally intelligent, strategic innovator with proven ability to influence all parts of the system required to create sustainable change, to see data as critical to our competitive advantage. Proven leader, with experience leading large teams with strong coaching team ethos, and often different disciplines (including data engineering, machine learning engineering, DevOps developers, SRE’s, CloudOps engineers and more).
