We are currently seeking a driven OLE Senior Engineer to join our fast-growing East Coast team, based in our busy Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne office. The Role The OLE Senior Engineer provides high-level technical support and supervision in relation to design and engineering services for Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) projects. The role will also participate in the preparation and evaluation of tender documents and will provide reviews and technical support during detailed design and construction of OLE installation. Duties will Include, but are not limited to : Provides leadership, strategic direction, guidance and technical expertise. Develops and maintains effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the development and delivery of projects. Develops, guides and mentors project team members and fosters positive team values and a cooperative team spirit. Provides expert technical advice in OLE engineering discipline to project teams during planning, procurement, design, construction, and delivery phases of projects. Prepares concept and reference OLE designs for new electrified railway projects including modifications to existing OLE and for new railway extensions. Reviews OLE design proposals / submissions during design and construction phases to ensure compliance with project requirements, design principles, codes of practice and guidelines. Reviews OLE designs to ensure adherence to relevant Australian and International Technical standards, safety standards and industry practices. Undertakes work site inspections to ensure compliance with the project requirements and participate in commissioning of 25kVac OLE installations. Liaises with Traction Power and Overhead Engineers within the Network and Infrastructure Division plus other sections of the Public Transport Authority to ensure effective exchange of information related to project works. Liaises with Project Managers and other Stakeholders to plan and monitor construction of OLE network as required. Reviews training manuals and asset management plans for OLE equipment before handover to the Network and Infrastructure Division. Qualifications Tertiary degree in Electrical Engineering, or similar.
