Operations Perth Permanent / Full Time 29/1/2025 Initial maternity leave cover Potential long term opportunities for high performers Opportunity to work on iconic Perth rail project The Project The Midland Station (Cale Street) Project is being delivered by Midland Junction Alliance (MJA) comprising of Public Transport Authority of Western Australia (PTA), MCD, Georgiou Group Pty Limited, BG&E and Arcadis.The project involves the design and construction of a new Midland Train station and associated rail infrastructure. After more than 50 years, the Midland Station will have a new home bringing it closer to the heart of the Midland Town Centre. The new station location will improve connections to Midland Gate Shopping Centre and Midland Health Campus, while maintaining the railway’s central role to enhance work opportunities and community life in the area.Your Opportunity McConnell Dowell Constructors (Aust.) Pty Ltd are currently recruiting for a Senior Project Engineer - Rail to join our team for 6 months maternity leave cover. You will work on an exciting rail project in the Midland area as part of work delivering and commissioning new facilities and infrastructure for the community.Key Responsibilities: Perform technical, engineering, inspection, scheduling, planning, survey, procurement, cost control and quality control functions for all activities at site. Assist in the preparation of RFQ’s and participate in bid evaluation of field supply/subcontracts. Develop ITP’s, conduct inspection and test activities and maintain quality sublots in accordance with approved quality documentation. Ensure the currency and accuracy of information for schedules and reports (progress, manpower, cost etc.). Provide timely submission of reports and project schedules as requested by senior management. Monitor assigned off-site and site works progress and cost and advise the Rail Delivery Manager of any deviations from the planned progress. Successful candidates will have: Tertiary qualification in construction/civil/mechanical engineering. Specialist experience in project engineering and a working knowledge of project management. Competent in planning and organising work schedules and a demonstrated ability to deliver to timelines. Sound working knowledge of HS&E requirements and implementation of same. Strong and clear communication skills with proven ability to engage others. A minimum of 7 years’ experience working in rail construction.
