About the projectAbergeldie is proud to be delivering the Mardi Water Treatment Plant Upgrade for Central Coast Council. This vital project involves upgrading the plant’s aging infrastructure to improve the quality and reliability of water services for the growing population in the region. The scope includes significant civil, mechanical, and electrical works to modernize the facility, enhance its capacity, and ensure compliance with current standards. This project is critical to securing the Central Coast’s future water supply and maintaining the region’s sustainability. About the opportunityWe are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our team and play a key role in delivering the Mardi Water Treatment Plant Upgrade. In this role, you’ll lead and manage project delivery, ensuring technical excellence and project success. Working closely with the Project Manager, you’ll oversee complex construction, commissioning, and multi-disciplinary works. This is your opportunity to showcase your expertise in water infrastructure and contribute to a project that makes a real difference to the community. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) Supporting the Project Manager in planning, programming, and providing technical leadership to ensure project milestones are met. Overseeing project cost forecasting, budgeting, and reporting to ensure financial performance aligns with expectations. Managing subcontractor selection, coordination, and performance to maintain high standards of safety, quality, and delivery. Leading quality assurance and control processes, ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards. Facilitating the commissioning of systems and equipment, ensuring operational readiness and seamless integration. Working collaboratively with the client and stakeholders to maintain positive relationships and address project requirements. What you’ll bring to the teamWe are seeking a Senior Project Engineer with a proven track record of managing complex water infrastructure projects. Our ideal candidate will have: A tertiary degree in either Civil or Mechanical Engineering. Extensive experience in delivering projects for local water authorities, including treatment plant upgrades, minor capital works and rehabilitation projects. Expertise in project cost control, financial reporting and budgeting. Strong skills in construction programming and scheduling to meet tight deadlines. Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage subcontractors, ensuring high-quality outcomes. A proactive approach to safety, compliance and fostering a safety-first culture.
