This pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading. Initial contract until 27/02/2026 with possible extension paying approx. $1100/day. Brisbane CBD Location with flexibility to WFH 2 days per week. Our client, a large complex Queensland Government department, is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager who will be accountable for leading and managing the planning stage of the Department's Vocational, Education and Training Data Streamlining Project. The Department's Data Streamlining Project (VDS) is part of a larger Australia-wide National VDS Program that addresses overarching operational, legislative, and regulatory frameworks to drive improvements related to training data quality, timely access (for regulatory and jurisdictional data consumers), and streamlined sector reporting requirements, processes, and pathways. The Department's VDS Project is responsible for delivering the business, technical, information, and reporting changes necessary to support and ensure we are a successful participant in the National VDS Program. The changes will significantly impact internal and external stakeholders and require changes to business-critical systems. The key output will be developing a compelling business case that details the overall approach including key activities, schedule, resourcing, costs, and change strategies (critical since this will impact all Registered Training Organisations and require their participation). Role requirements: Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in managing and delivering business-critical IT solutions within high-volume, high-pressure environments. Must include end-to-end management of the full project lifecycle including hypercare and transition to BALI. Project Management Certification: Possession of a recognized project management certification such as PRINCE2 or PMP with a minimum of 7 years' industry experience as a Senior Project Manager. A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or Business Administration is highly desirable. Knowledge of Project Management Frameworks: Proficiency in applying appropriate project management frameworks, with the ability to promote and provide guidance on the use of relevant techniques, methodologies, and tools, preferably aligned with PRINCE2 or PMBoK. Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of IT systems, technologies, and methodologies relevant to the project, including iterative software development approach, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data management.
