Senior Project Manager - Fixed Term Contract The Reserve Bank of Australia currently have an opportunity for Senior Project Manager to lead an extensive technology program, that is implementing strategic infrastructure initiatives to reduce operating costs and improve operating efficiencies. The program is currently inflight and is delivering the following 3 streams of work: Automated Operating System Patching Implementation of an IP Address Management System Delivery of a new network across the Bank This is a fixed term contract to December 2026 Candidates must have significant experience leading the delivery of new network infrastructure (e.g. inter-data centre connectivity, Software-define WAN, Enterprise WiFi solutions, etc) in large government organisations and/or financial services organisations. Candidates without this experience will not be considered and need not apply. About the role Manage, plan and direct all aspects of work for a program to ensure it delivers outcomes necessary to realise benefits as agreed by the project sponsor. Apply a structured project management approach and methodology, ensuring adherence to internal frameworks, processes and practices to effectively manage all aspects of the program. Manage all procurement activities with Telecommunication vendors and ensure all vendors are delivering to required schedules, quality and cost. Develop and maintain detailed schedules, project estimates and resource plans. Manage all governance activities (Steering Committees) and ensuring alignment with all governance forums and reporting charters. Manage and report on the program's financials and proactively address financial issues. Identify and manage risks, issues and dependencies, develop plans to mitigate risk and implement these in a timely manner. Monitor the progress of plans identifying variances early allowing corrective actions to be taken in a timely manner, minimising impact. Organise project teams, assigning individual responsibilities and monitoring progress. Manage change throughout the lifecycle of the project ensuring decisions are made in a timely manner with full knowledge of the impact to outcomes and realisation of benefits. Identify, plan and complete communication activities to ensure they provide information in a timely and relevant manner and clearly communicate the intended messages. Identify stakeholders, develop appropriate plans and complete activities to ensure necessary levels of engagement are maintained throughout the life of the project. About you Understanding of infrastructure automation tools (Puppet), IP Address Management tools (Infoblox) and networking technologies (Software-defined WAN, DWDM, Enterprise WiFi). Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong vendor management skills and ability to drive vendors to tight timeframes. Ability to influence management and senior stakeholders. Strong network infrastructure experience - proven experience working across large network infrastructure transformation program/projects from inception to completion. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Proven track record of achieving high performance with a team and promoting continuous learning and advocating professional and personal development. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with a focus on network and/or infrastructure projects. PMP, PRINCE2, AGILE or similar project management/delivery certification is preferred.
