The Senior Project Officer role presents a challenging and rewarding opportunity well suited to a motivated, adaptable individual eager to work collaboratively across the health sector. As a Senior Project Officer, you will be required to oversee the development and implementation of climate change adaptation and mitigation programs. You will also play a key role in supporting health services in the implementation of existing climate change and sustainability policies and programs including identifying opportunities for improvement. Supporting contextual understanding of program delivery, you will review relevant Victorian Government policy identifying linkages and impacts to the health portfolio. This short-term role has been created to job-share with a current employee who has moved to part-time arrangements. Verbal and Written Communication: Confidently conveys information in a simple, clear, concise and interesting way; clearly understands the target audience and the objectives of the communication; uses audience feedback to refine communication and ensure communications are understood; handles difficult and sensitive communications well. Personal Qualities Initiative and Accountability: Proactive and self-starting; seizes opportunities and acts upon them; takes responsibility for own actions. Qualifications / Specialist Expertise Qualifications - A tertiary qualification in environmental science, engineering or related field is highly regarded. A practical understanding of Victorian and Commonwealth climate change and environmental legislation and policy is essential. Demonstrated experience in writing clear and concise communication material is essential. Health sector experience is highly regarded. Experience in Victorian cabinet processes and briefings is desirable.
