Goulburn Valley Water (GVW) provides quality water and wastewater services to 54 towns in North Central Victoria. As part of the Planning & Climate Resilience team, you will enjoy purposeful, sustainable work that helps shape our communities and the future. Located in Shepparton, you will be responsible for progressing the planning and design of projects to facilitate connection of new dwellings in key growth areas to enable delivery of the Victorian Governments housing targets. You will review, finalise and consolidate water and sewer strategic planning documents, considering climate impacts and population growth, and developing adaptive plans where appropriate. Your input will have a direct impact on GVW’s ability to service our customers, both now and into the future. Previous experience in the water industry and proven experience in infrastructure planning, project management and design delivery complement your engineering qualification. About your new role... You will work within a friendly and supported team, where your professional strengths will complement their rich skills and experience to provide infrastructure planning for the Corporation. Strong communication skills and engagement abilities allow you to collaborate with teams across GVW and external stakeholders to undertake project option assessments and recommend solutions. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in growth planning for our operational footprint where we provide water and wastewater services to more than 50,000 households and more than 130,000 people in our region. This role is based at the Shepparton Administration Centre in the Fryers Street CBD precinct. You will be afforded the ability to work flexibly, in line with GVW’s flexible working policy. About you... To be considered for this role you must have demonstrated some of the following: Degree or above in Engineering (Civil, Chemical, Mechanical or Environmental) is essential. Professional Engineering Registration (Victoria) or eligibility to become registered (preferred) Diploma or above in Project Management (preferred) Experience in the Water Industry or similar with an emphasis on infrastructure planning for water and wastewater assets Knowledge and understanding of water and wastewater process, water and sewer network hydraulic considerations Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including written and presentation skills that allows technical information to be conveyed to a variety of audiences Highly capable in liaising with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external Strong OHS commitment and focus.
