The Opportunity We are seeking a full-time, experienced Senior Remedial Building Consultant / Remedial Engineer to join our expanding team. This pivotal role involves conducting detailed building inspections, managing and overseeing remedial building projects from planning to execution. Key Responsibilities Conduct site investigations and diagnosis of building defects. Prepare detailed building defect reports. Provide recommendations for general building repairs. Prepare scope of works documents, tender and contract documentation. Coordinate and liaise with regulated design practitioners under the Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020 . Manage and oversee remedial building projects, from planning to execution. Deliver projects to a high standard of quality and expertise. Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project success and to build relationships. Support project teams with troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues. Build and maintain strong client relationships through timely and professional communication. Mentor and guide junior consultants, fostering a culture of growth and expertise. About You To thrive in this role, you will possess the following qualifications, skills, and attributes: Minimum 5 years experience in residential/commercial remedial construction. Experience in conducting on-site assessments of construction works and building defects together with demonstrated ability to produce: Building Reports Site Inspection Reports Rectification Methodologies Remedial Specifications Ability to administer construction contracts and undertake Project Management services. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of common construction details and building practices. Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, the National Construction Code (NCC), industry best practices. Knowledge of current trends in construction and other technical and environmental demands on buildings. Experience within the strata industry would be advantageous. The ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues. Demonstrated leadership and team development skills. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail and clarity. Strong time management, resilience, and a proactive approach to challenges. Professional demeanour and a commitment to delivering excellence. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
