The role The purpose of the Senior Pricing Analyst role will be to support the Renewal Pricing Manager to manage the renewal pricing of A&G’s major products. As a Senior Pricing Analyst, you will work closely with a small team of analysts to perform leading edge, high-quality analysis across the business. You will take ownership of various stages of the renewal pricing process including developing, implementing, and monitoring renewal prices to ensure that the company’s business objectives are met. Position Accountabilities General Manage large data sets, conduct complex technical analysis and draw insights Understand the data available and required to address business problems Explain, manage and review tasks with other analysts to ensure timely and quality analysis is produced Engage key stakeholders and communicate findings/recommendations Identify and find solutions for potential issues before implementing new projects Optimisation Conduct reviews of our renewal pricing algorithm for one or more of our major products; Quantify the impact of any new technical rates on offered prices and recommend any proposed changes Quantify the impact of various retention scenarios to assist with decision making Implement/review complex changes in pricing calculations, e.g. price tests Release new pricing rules to all servers (including production) and perform appropriate testing Pricing Queries/BAU Communicate reasons for renewal premium movements to external stakeholders (e.g. AFCA, customers) Identify and escalate systemic pricing errors based on pricing queries Propose appropriate rating changes to reduce the volume and severity of specific pricing queries Monthly Reporting Peer review monthly reporting deliverables and identify technical issues Effectively explain movements in monthly reporting results based on recent pricing changes Perform regular and ad-hoc reporting, particularly around key product pricing Other Provide pivotal analytical support and leadership within the Renewal Pricing Team; Perform other reasonable and relevant activities as requested from time to time to meet operational requirements. Test complex IT changes and effectively identify potential issues before going live Collaborate with analytical colleagues across the company (e.g. underwriting, sales, marketing, IT) to improve business performance across the team What experience you’ll bring: Essential: Clear understanding of statistical modelling techniques and, in particular, predictive modelling approaches (e.g. GLMs, machine learning) Degree qualified in mathematics, actuarial studies or similar General insurance industry experience Desirable: Proven analytical and problem-solving capability; Excellent attention to detail; Familiarity with statistical software packages (e.g. EMBLEM, SAS, R, SQL) is highly advantageous Progress towards Actuarial qualifications viewed favourably Our Perks Location – Toowong Close to a variety of public transport and easy parking options, the Toowong office has excellent end of trip facilities (including secure bike storage and showers), outdoor spaces and plenty of modern collaborative areas to work and connect with colleagues.
