They are a privately invested, fast-growing start-up located on the stunning Sunshine Coast, looking for a talented Principal / Lead Software Engineer to join their team. In this key role, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the direction of the software development roadmap and features and work in an exciting domain with a passionate team on AI-powered solutions. Responsibilities: Contribute at a senior level to the design, development, and architecture of complex applications. Leverage generative AI technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs), Agentic Systems, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). Define and maintain best practices for software development, code quality, and deployment processes. Stay ahead of industry trends, continuously improving your knowledge and sharing insights with the team. Play a key role in shaping the technical roadmap and long-term vision for the company. Experience required: Proven experience as a Software Engineer, passionate about AI. Technical experience with some of the following or similar: Go, Python, Next.js, React, AWS, and PostgreSQL. They are more interested in your ability and curiosity as an engineer than the tech stack. Expertise in AWS for deploying and scaling applications in production environments. Solid understanding of cloud-based architectures and microservices. Experience working with modern software development tools and CI/CD pipelines. It will be highly beneficial if you have experience in the development of applications leveraging Gen AI technologies (LLMs, Agentic Systems, RAG). Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable plans. Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation.
