About the Team As the Consulting Services team, we provide a wide range of advisory and implementation services, empowering our clients with the full suite of data management solutions that accelerate innovation, growth, and performance at scale. This includes data lakes, data warehousing, Graph, ML & AI, analytics and reporting platforms, and data governance solutions. 2. About the Role The Senior Solutions Architect - Data Management and Analytics will be a key member of our Consulting Services team. We are looking for creative individuals passionate about solving complex business and technology problems, who have a solid drive to keep up with evolving technologies, and who are excellent communicators with IT and business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in data modelling, data engineering, and analytics and reporting (BI) platforms with excellent business skills. You will assist organisations in discovering, analysing, and translating business requirements into technical designs and lead end-to-end implementation of data management solutions across various scales and industries. Key Responsibilities Collaboration and Solution Design Collaborate with client cross-functional teams, including IT and business stakeholders, to define solutions architectures, design, and data models, ensuring alignment with customer business requirements, project goals, and team capabilities. Design end-to-end data processing, transformations (ETL/ELT), CI/CD, and data models for analytics and reporting/visualisations (BI) platforms for data management systems implemented on-premises or in the cloud. Collaborate with the sales team and client stakeholders in scoping initiatives for data management and analytics systems, ensuring they are scoped in accordance with architectural objectives and principles. Lead scoping and client presentations. Sales and Proposal Support Support the sales team from the beginning of a sales cycle to understand a client’s overall technology direction and draft commercial proposals. Guide or contribute to RFP/RFI responses. Project Leadership and Ownership Provide leadership and end-to-end ownership of the overall architecture and design of the IT solution throughout the entire lifecycle of projects, from project initiation to design, build, test, implementation, and client handover. Manage projects, acting as project lead/manager to clients. Undertake primary ownership in driving self and team effort across all phases of a project lifecycle. Develop and maintain a detailed technical roadmap for the project, outlining key milestones, deliverables, and timelines. Technical Expertise and Mentoring Serve as a subject matter expert and provide technical guidance on relevant technologies, frameworks, and methodologies. Stay up to date on the latest features and enhancements of selected products to leverage them in client projects. Mentor and train team members in developing their skills and understanding of architecture and data modelling principles. Stakeholder Engagement and Documentation Engage with key stakeholders, including senior management, to communicate solution designs and project progress, gather feedback, and align on strategic goals. Ensure sound understanding and acceptance of the solution by client project sponsors. Document end-to-end solution architecture across applications. Produce comprehensive technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, ERD and data models, integration plans, and user manuals. Required Domain Expertise and Qualifications Experience 5+ years of client-facing experience working as a solution architect or equivalent, with 10+ years overall experience in developing and designing data management systems - ETL, CI/CD, report, and database development. Strong expertise in delivering design and architecture for Data Warehouse, Lakehouse, analytics, and reporting platforms, along with proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (eg Python, PowerShell) is essential. Experience drafting scope analysis documents to implement data management systems to be delivered as commercial proposals. Technical Skills Extensive experience designing, building, maintaining, and redesigning data models, conceptual, logical, and physical architectures and designs, and system documents. Strong database knowledge and experience working with key DBMS platforms (SQL Server, ORACLE, Snowflake), including cloud enablement (Azure SQL, RDS, Redshift, Big Query) relational and non-relational platforms. Experience with Graph databases is desirable but optional. Familiarity and experience with cloud platforms and tools (Azure, AWS, GCP). Familiarity and experience with data engineering applications and automation toolsets – Alteryx, WhereScape, Coalesce, DBT, Databricks, Azure Fabric – and reporting/visualisation applications – Tableau, Power BI – is highly desirable but not mandatory. Soft Skills Proven track record of leading development teams. Ability to teach and guide other team members on best industry standards in designing and implementing data management systems. Experience in different delivery methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile). Ability to design and review complex, secure, and scalable solutions with enterprise software and remove technical impediments. Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to influence and manage stakeholders. Ability to lead multiple engagements concurrently and manage multiple clients.
