The Rockhampton-based CQMHAODS includes community services at various hospitals and clinics across the region, such as Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Biloela, Emerald, Theodore, Moura, Blackwater, Woorabinda, and Gemfields. Our service employs 17.5 FTE Consultants, 25 FTE Junior Medical Officers (JMO), and 2 Nurse Practitioners, with a range of subspecialties including Forensics, Addiction Psychiatry, and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. The JMO on-call frequency is 1 in 18-20, with Consultants on-call at 1 in 13-14. Our service is continuing to expand to meet project growth across the region. CQMHAODS is accredited by the RANZCP for training in various psychiatric specialities, including advanced training in addiction, forensic, and old age psychiatry. The service works closely with the University of Queensland's Rural Clinical School and Central Queensland University, supporting medical training locally through a new Medical School starting in 2023. As a regional service, CQMHAODS offers Queensland Health incentives, financial support for training, and opportunities for research and career progression. The service promotes a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment with strong ties to primary care, universities, and tertiary centers, while supporting a good work-life balance in Central Queensland. About the role: Provide high quality Psychiatry services to consumers of the Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service and provide clinical leadership for the Mental Health clinical team. The position may also be required to provide services to: Gladstone, Biloela, Blackwater, Emerald and Moura Hospitals; Woorabinda Health Service and Outreach Clinic; Gemfields Outreach Clinic; Capricorn Coast Hospital and Health Service and Outreach Clinic and the associated Mental Health clinics. Candidates with an interest in and/or certification or endorsement in sub speciality areas like addiction, forensic psychiatry, CL psychiatry can also apply. About you: MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist in Psychiatry with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA), generally requiring FRANZCP. Extensive skills in facilitating effective mental health care across the continuum of adult psychiatry. Eligibility for accreditation as a RANZCP-approved supervisor would be well regarded. What we offer: Total remuneration value of up to $528,432 p.a. is comprised of: A salary rate between $210,332 - $244,313 p.a. (L18 – L24) A salary rate between $251,527 - $266,677 p.a.
