Senior Strategic Communications Advisor Grade: Clerk 9/10Salary: $125,693 - $138,510 + Superannuation & Leave LoadingEmployment Type: 2x roles available - 1x Full-time Ongoing and 1x Full-time Temporary (up to 12 months)Location: Sydney - Flexible working arrangements availableApplications Close: Friday 7th February 2025 (at 9:59am) About the team We are looking for a high-performing senior communications professional / leader to join the Strategic Communications team within the Department of Customer Service. The team is a high-functioning group of professionals focused on providing communications strategy and design to business units across the Department of Customer Service. The Strategic Communications team actively works collaboratively and cohesively with a variety of content teams (brand, social media, stakeholder engagement, video and more) to achieve mutually beneficial strategic communications goals for the agencies we service. This role supports agencies including SafeWork NSW, Fair Trading & Regulatory Services, Building Commission NSW, Service NSW and more in achieving communications objectives. Your day-to-day Strategy setting and an excellent ability to lead and deliver sophisticated communications solutions in relation to complex scenarios. Creative out of the box thinking and a growth mindset – an understanding of how to deliver detailed communications strategies with flair and creativity. Strong stakeholder management experience and the leadership skills to provide well-thought-out diplomatic advice to the business units and clients. Deep experience in managing multiple projects and aligning stakeholders to deliver to competing deadlines. A sense of urgency with the ability to lead and manage a variety of priorities. Ability to work efficiently and with multiple colleagues across the BDC (Brand, Digital and Communications) team to achieve common goals and objectives. Use your leadership skills and expertise to inspire and step-up to lead the team when needed. To be successful in this role you will demonstrate: Previous Strategic Communications experience is a must. Strong and confident team leadership that inspires creativity and solution-based outcomes. Ability to influence executive stakeholders is essential. Demonstrated stakeholder negotiation abilities and strong stakeholder management skills. Excellent experience in managing multiple stakeholders with competing interests. Ability to multi-task and manage competing deadlines without supervision. Strong understanding of in-market risks scenarios and how they may impact the business coupled with the ability to formulate risk mitigation solutions. Demonstrated skills and ability to step-up and lead the team when needed. Strong power-point and presentation skills. Experience as a journalist or media professional will be highly regarded.
