This job posting isn't available in all website languages Senior Systems Engineer - Networking (18 months fixed term) The Senior Systems Engineer – Networking aids in the design, delivery and management of all networking and connectivity solutions within the APRA technology environment and provides level 2 and 3 technical support to those solutions and interconnectivity of services utilising the solutions. The role also involves making recommendations regarding the development of new and innovative solutions to current IT related issues. In the provision of advice to senior managers on systems issues, the position operates within a framework established by the policies and practices of the IT Unit and is guided by the APRA Act, other relevant legislation and accepted practice. This role is an 18-month fixed term position. The team Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager within the Technology division, the Senior Systems Engineer, Networking is a member of the Core Infrastructure team. Primary stakeholders range from the other product teams and Technology department staff members, while performing tasks and assisting with the implementation or configuration of networking solutions and troubleshooting, to the whole of APRA as an organisation, as the networking and connectivity to APRA systems is essential to each APRA staff member at all levels throughout the organisation. Key responsibilities Deploy, configure, manage, and monitor network devices and solutions; Perform maintenance patching activities as required; Deploy and manage network hardening concepts across a range of networking technologies; Storage Fabric configuration and maintenance; Network segmentation and segregation (implementation); Secure administration (and the implementation of it); Firewall administration, configuration, and maintenance; Delivery of projects, both working autonomously and part of a larger group; Create, update, and maintain documentation for the networking solutions as they evolve; Interstate travel to branch offices and secondary datacentre; and Afterhours maintenance activities. About you Proven experience in the configuration, installation, and administration of: Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches, routers and WAPs (Cisco, HP) Load Balancers (F5), Firewall technologies and appliances (Fortinet); Experience managing and configuring Windows Server, VMWare; Experience configuring and maintaining Cloud platforms networking infrastructure and the integration back to on-premise platforms; Experience configuring and maintaining VMWare NSX or NSX-T/V; Experience with Cisco ISE configuration and maintenance; Experience configuring and managing Storage fabric (Cisco); and Experience and knowledge of working within the ACSC Essential 8/ISM and PSPF.
