Location: Adelaide, AustraliaSector: ITSalary: $130,000.00 to $150,000.00 per annum Position Overview As the Senior System/Project Engineer, you will be the 2IC (second-in-command) to the General Manager, providing technical leadership and guidance across a diverse range of IT infrastructure and cloud technologies. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with project delivery and team support, ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems and the successful delivery of client projects.You will act as a trusted advisor within the team, providing mentorship and acting as an escalation point for complex technical issues. Your generalist skillset, coupled with your ability to adapt to various technologies, will ensure that both operational and strategic IT goals are met. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership: Act as a senior technical escalation point for IT systems and infrastructure issues. Provide mentorship and support to junior engineers and technicians. Ensure the delivery of high-quality technical solutions aligned with best practices. Project Delivery: Plan, manage, and execute IT projects, including system upgrades, cloud migrations, and infrastructure implementations. Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements, timelines, and deliverables. Monitor project progress and report on outcomes to management. IT Infrastructure and Cloud Management: Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and virtualization platforms. Manage cloud environments, with a focus on Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and hybrid solutions. Ensure the availability, security, and performance of IT systems. Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and enhancement of IT policies, procedures, and documentation. Identify and implement opportunities to optimize IT processes and systems. Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to deliver exceptional service and build lasting relationships. Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Key Requirements Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure and cloud technologies. Proven experience in project delivery and team leadership. Prior experience in a 2IC or senior technical role preferred. Technical Skills: Proficiency across IT infrastructure domains, including networking, virtualization, storage, and server administration. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365). Strong knowledge of IT security principles, backup and disaster recovery solutions, and system monitoring tools. Familiarity with scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell) is advantageous. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. A proactive and collaborative approach to work. Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, AWS, VMware, ITIL) are highly desirable.
