Applications are sought from suitably qualified candidates wishing to be considered for the role of Senior Team Member - Finance, Procurement & Commercial Support. As the Senior Team Member, you report to and work under the broad direction of the Team Leader Finance, Procurement & Commercial Team. You are responsible for supporting the delivery of financial policy advice, management accounting and reporting, asset management and fleet services aligned with the Command Corporate Services Unit (CCSU) service offering. You are responsible for working collaboratively with the Command Executive, Command members and national teams/centres of excellence to solve complex corporate issues through the provision of consistent high quality customer service to stakeholders to foster a positive reputation and trust in the team. You will contribute to supporting efficient, effective and compliant financial and commercial services across the region. You will provide financial advice and support to the Command management team and other key stakeholders to manage their financial commitments, spending and budgets. You are dynamic and flexible in your approach to day-to-day work, have the ability to prioritise and multi-task, engaging multiple stakeholders and corporate centres of excellence to deliver high-level outcomes to foster a positive reputation and trust in the team. You will have excellent analytical skills and a seasoned ability to communicate financial concepts and terms to non-financial stakeholders. You are a motivated, skilled and client-focused professional, who is forward thinking in delivering high calibre services to achieve desired outcomes. You work autonomously with minimal supervision, providing corporate services as a subject matter expert to a diverse range of stakeholders. You develop and mentor team members, adopt change and influence behaviours that lead to a supportive culture that respects the perspectives, talents and values of each individual consistent with the AFP values, AFP Core Leadership Continuum, AFP Corporate Plan and your Performance Development Agreement. As a Team Member in the AFP you will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below. What will you do? As a Senior Team Member Finance, Procurement & Commercial Support, you will be required to: Work collaboratively with the Command Executive, Chief Finance Officer Portfolio, and national teams to effectively undertake finance, procurement and commercial services. Develop and oversee the Command's budget and provide in-depth analysis for forecasting and to inform decision making. Manage end of month processes and internal reporting to ensure data and reporting accuracy in accordance with statutory reporting obligations, including the analysis and presentation of financial information to support Command decision making. Ensure the integrity of the AFP's financial information in SAP and compliance with statutory reporting requirements, including maintaining the accuracy of the AFP's general ledger. Provide insightful and trusted advice to a diverse range of senior stakeholders and frontline clients. Proactively engage with cost centre owners and relevant stakeholders across the Command to provide targeted and relevant financial advice and support. Oversee asset management activities, including stocktakes, asset disposal and annual asset replacement budget bids. Oversee procurement activities, including the provision of support for low-value and high-value spending proposals in compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules. Oversee the coordination of fleet services, including servicing, fuel cards, insurance claims, parking and infringements. Challenge existing work practices to gain efficiencies and benefits to the Command and the broader AFP and instil a culture of continual improvement. Maintain contemporary finance and accounting knowledge and subject matter expertise through ongoing professional development and learning opportunities outside the formal education process to ensure you are able to effectively undertake your duties and are up to date on relevant changes to procedures and policies. Essential Requirements You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application. A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one. Formal tertiary Accounting/Finance qualifications. Existing relevant professional qualifications (CA/CPA), or currently studying toward professional qualifications. Demonstrated experience in providing financial analysis, advisory, consultancy and partnership support to senior management teams. High-level communication and stakeholder management skills. Demonstrated experience in the development of team members and fulfilling a guiding, mentoring and advisory role.
