What will you do? We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technical Designer for intimates in collaboration with the design and buying teams to deliver innovative and commercial products on time in adherence with the Critical Path. Be accountable for fit for purpose, elevation of quality, and maintaining safety of all products in the relevant Buying Group. Responsibilities will include but not limited to: Own and manage Brands, Product categories and Departments as allocated by Team Lead. Create accurate initial Tech packs including but not limited to measurements, grading, labels and packaging, images, Protocols, Mandatory/Safety requirements, construction and performance in conjunction with Design for development and help maintain Tech packs at every stage. Manage and conduct fit sessions, measuring garments with clear and accurate commenting on fit and manufacturing finishes to Design and suppliers on all sample stages as required and accurately maintain fit criteria and consistency across product types and Business Group Brands. Assist in maintaining E-patterns, Block catalogues and Measurement comparison libraries within Business Group where applicable. Accountable for the selection and application of labels and packaging including claims, call outs and warnings. Follow up and drive resolution process of all production issues including inspection failures and high priority customer related issues specific to the department. Ensure suppliers comply with testing requirements in line with the product critical path timeline. Inspection and quality control of Production samples, shipment samples and bulk production and conduct regular store visits for product fit and quality review assessments. Ensure that all Target sustainability policies pertaining to their products are maintained and inspire and embed a culture of Safety and elevated Quality first at Target. Contribute to vendor strategy/matrix with objective evidence of vendor performance, assessments of vendor capability and identify gaps and opportunities for improvement. Support Target Asia in developing vendors to have rigorous processes in place to deliver goods on-time, to Target standards. What are we looking for? We are looking for an experienced, collaborative and passionate Senior Designer with strong communication and organisation skills. This role will involve clear and organised daily communication with all stakeholders including but not limited to Target Store Support Office (TSSO), TAS, Local suppliers, Vendors and Sourcing agents. You will drive a one team culture between TSSO and TAS technical teams and lead the Target vision, strategy and values within the team and across the organisation. To be successful in this role: Minimum 7-10 years’ Technical Design experience. Tertiary qualification in Design or Technical Design. Patternmaking, grading and construction knowledge. Experience in garment fitting and feedback. Strong business activity and process knowledge. Demonstrated ability to make tactical decisions. Operational Management capacity. Extensive experience working with offshore manufacturing. Ability to develop Technical Quality Standards, Rules, Practices, Manuals, Protocols. Proven track record in delivering initiatives to drive Technical execution. Knowledge of Australian customer fits and sizing. Awareness of market landscape from a quality and execution point of view.
