As a Senior Telecommunications Engineer , you should have experience in RF systems, infrastructure design (telecommunications support structures and buildings) with core knowledge of radio systems, microwave systems, LTE fundamentals, fibre optic transmission systems, networking and general telecommunications exposure in the resource project environment. What you’ll do The role responsibilities include: Preparing, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling the design, implementation and optimization of telecommunications projects in the field of telecommunications engineering. Preparation of communications designs, reports and conceptual designs. Participating in design reviews in a collaborative team environment. Provide technical assessment and guidance to the communication and control systems design team and the construction team. Assist with managing the construction tasks for telecommunications activities. Ensure that the requirements of system engineering, safety, competency and quality assurance are being achieved for telecommunications scope. Assist in preparing reports and presentations with statistical data related to the status of the Project in a timely basis, as requested. Liaise with the sub-contractors for telecommunications scope. Provide technical assessment and presentations to support claims, variations, or any other dispute. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with all Australian health and safety, quality and environmental legislative requirements. Providing technical assistance to the presales team in new tenders/ contract negotiation (RFP/RFQ). Compiles engineering project proposals to define goals, identifies scope, background and need, and ascertains cost of the project. Designs, builds, configures and commissions devices, networks and systems and ensures systems interconnect with equipment from different manufacturers, service providers and users. What you’ll have Bachelor of Engineering in Communications and Electronics. Extensive years of experience in the design and implementation of wireless and fixed telecommunications systems. Relevant experience as senior engineer for network design, implementation and optimization at complex projects in the field of telecommunications engineering. Experience and knowledge in the construction of RF infrastructure, including buildings, towers and integration of technology systems. Strong knowledge of RF engineering design concepts and practices. Complete working knowledge of Telco standards/specifications and operating procedures is highly desired. Experience leading all systems engineering activities for communications sub-systems in compliance with the Client’s requirements. Experience in reviewing product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Project and/or Primavera 6. Managed and coordinated internal staff and subcontractors to ensure successful delivery of projects.
