Senior Underwriter, Construction Primary Details Time Type: Full timeWorker Type: EmployeeLocation: Melbourne Type: 12 Month Fixed-Term Contract, full time Hybrid role, happy to talk flexible working The opportunity We have a rare opportunity for an experienced insurance professional to join our Heavy Industries Underwriting team as a Senior Underwriter, Construction in Melbourne. In this role, you will drive the delivery of product strategy in the regional business, providing direction and technical support to underwriting teams including the development, implementation, and monitoring of strategy, overseeing the provision of specialist advice, direction, and technical support to internal and external stakeholders enabling QBE to achieve a profitable portfolio and meet customer expectations.Your new role A day in the role might look a bit like this...Support the development, implementation and monitoring of effective and profitable national and regional product strategies across the portfolio, via the Product Committee and Regional Product teams Identify and implement nationally consistent 'best practice' and process improvements Ensure implementation and compliance of underwriting guidelines Support the underwriting of complex risks in accordance with defined limits of authority, organisational policy and underwriting standards Develop and maintain strong networks and relationships with brokers About you To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience in an Underwriting, Claims, or Risk Solutions role in the Construction or Property space.
