Senior and Middle College Science Teacher Contract Type: Contract Position Full Time Applications Close: 4 March 2025 The role is a Middle and Senior College teaching position. The classroom teacher is directly answerable to the Head of Department and is expected to contribute to the strengthening of College culture. Title of Position: Senior and Middle College Science Teacher Type of Appointment: Contract Terms 2, 3 and 4 2025 1. Role Description The role is a Middle and Senior College teaching position. The classroom teacher is directly answerable to the Head of Department and is expected to contribute to the strengthening of College culture in the following areas. Strengthening Lutheran Identity Support and contribute to the growth of a strong Christian faith community through personal example and professional leadership. Support the Lutheran ethos of the College. Enhancing Excellence in Teaching and Learning Design and implement teaching and learning programs using contemporary knowledge and understanding of curriculum, assessment and reporting requirements. Apply current and comprehensive knowledge of the content and teaching strategies of their teaching area to develop engaging activities. Use formal and informal data to monitor and plan for effective teaching and learning. Model high levels of pedagogical expertise, collaboration and teamwork in the enhancement of student outcomes. Create a safe and supportive learning environment that provides a high standard of pastoral care in the role of classroom teacher. Contribute to the growth of a culture of thinking that places high value on academic learning. Engage in Ongoing Improvement and Innovation Engage in ongoing professional learning to update knowledge and practice. Contribute to professional discussion with colleagues to evaluate practice directed at improving educational outcomes for students. Community Building Foster effective learning partnerships with students, staff, parents and members of the wider community. Actively support the co-curricular program of the College. Leading Effective Organisation and Management Know and adhere to departmental and College policies and procedures. Assess and report on student performance in line with the College’s curriculum, assessment and reporting framework. 3. Selection Criteria The demonstrated ability to support the Christian ethos of the College. Knowledge and demonstrated skills of contemporary educational practice. A demonstrated commitment to ongoing improvement and innovation in teaching and learning. Demonstrated professional skills that foster effective learning partnerships. 4.
