Exciting opportunity at one of Australia's most trusted consultancies specialising in Surveying, Town Planning, Urban Design, Development Compliance and Spatial solutions is looking for a Senior/Principal Planner to join their growing team. Our client is very well respected in the industry and has built a reputation as one of the industry leaders. You will be involved in complex and diverse projects that will help shape Queensland into the future.Your Role: Develop and deliver planning approvals for capital and complex projects. Negotiate with councils and regulators including progression of development applications and approvals (local, state). Coordinate and support the project team to deliver supporting documentation to enable delivery of project approvals. Provide high level technical and scientific planning advice in relation to approval coordination and strategies. Be the key planning interface between stakeholders and project consultants and subconsultants on minor works projects. Support the Director of Planning & Design / Project Directors in charge of Town Planning. Lead the Town Planning Department including mentoring team members and encouraging ongoing learning. Understand current planning legislation and keep up to date with any changes that occur. Ensure development application process is adhered to and used in an effective manner. About You: At least 5 years' experience working in a Town Planning environment, and at least 1 year as a Principal or a Senior. Degree in Town Planning or a related field and eligibility for PIA membership. Effective analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills. An excellent understanding of Queensland’s planning legislation and technical expertise.
