Join our dynamic team in Fremantle, Western Australia Service Engineer, Merchant Automation Position Overview Customer support is seeking a field service engineer for supporting our regional as well as worldwide customers. The ideal candidate is one having experience on both Integrated Control Monitoring System (ICMS) as well as propulsion/steering control systems. Hands-on service or operational experience on the main engine and thrusters is an added advantage. The role also involves providing the onboard services, commissioning of refit and retrofit projects, remote guidance/product support to our customers as well as being part of a knowledge pool giving backend support for the field service team. Responsibilities Focus on customer support, commissioning, and service on assigned Kongsberg Maritime Merchant & Automation product range. Cover service activities in the Oceania Region and maintain good relationship with existing clients. Workshop test and technical preparations. Proper preparation and execution of work assigned and ensure performance are always met. Responsible for generation of service reports, update drawings, cable information database and other relevant documents. Provides remote guidance/product support to customers, commission and project management of refit/retrofit projects and backend support to the service team. Assist our sales department with technical issues. Handles pre and post administrative work. Required to undertake ad-hoc duties which may be assigned from time to time. Qualifications & Experience Minimum Diploma or Degree in Electronics /Electrical/ Instrumentation. Relevant experience may substitute for formal education. Minimum 3 to 5 years of related field experience in Alarm Monitoring and Control System as well as good knowledge of computer hardware/peripherals and basic software. Experience onboard ship for automation systems (controls and propulsion), system process knowledge, distributed control systems and power management. Relevant working experience in maritime industry. Must have excellent co-operative skills, good communication skills, result-oriented, self-motivated and project management skills. Meticulous & methodical approach to remote case handling. Self-driven attitude to find solutions to problems. Passion and patience for handling customers – service oriented. Ability to work independently. Able to travel overseas on short notice.
