Join our team and contribute to the delivery of customer focussed payroll service to Senior Executives and employees of the Department of Health through payroll and related administrative processes and systems. The Service Leader of Executive Workforce Services & Central Separations teams reports to the Manager Service Delivery in the Central Service Centre. You will be required to fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with the Queensland Public Service values. Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces. Provide leadership, mentoring, coaching and training to the Central Separations team and Executive Workforce Services Payroll team. Liaise with Corporate Technology Solutions on payroll processing particularly for escalations and errors. Be available to provide an advisory service for pay run operational activities. Maintain a high-level and up to date understanding on establishment and business processes for Payroll Transactional Services including payroll production and the impacts of employee payments on workforce management issues. Operate and maintain system policies and procedures that support/facilitate the effective delivery of the Queensland Health payroll, including the efficiency of the organisational structures and audit requirements and processes. Provide comprehensive advisory services on a broad range of payroll operational issues and activities spanning multiple levels of the organisation within the Department of Health and Hospital and Health Service Network. Lead the delivery of payroll and finance reconciliation, audit compliance, critical error management, end of financial year and establishment support. Develop and maintain effective key client relationships to enhance payroll services outcomes and efficiencies. Key competencies (role specific criteria) Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a payroll team or service to ensure provision of quality customer services within an industrially complex and diverse environment. Well-developed leadership, management and change management skills to develop a high performing and professional workforce and workplace culture. High level written and oral communication skills including liaising, consulting and stakeholder engagement with a broad range of clients. Demonstrated knowledge of delivering payroll and rostering system processes and procedures within Queensland Health or similar large and diverse payroll teams. Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary human resources practices and relevant legislation, directives, industrial agreements and HR policies. Qualifications, registrations and other requirements While not mandatory, a relevant qualification would be well regarded.
