Position Summary As a Shift Engineer, you are responsible for the correct operation and maintenance of all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, kitchen, and ancillary equipment, ensuring that all fittings throughout the hotel are working satisfactorily. Role: Repairs and maintains all mechanical, electrical and hydraulic equipment in good working order throughout the hotel. Repairs and maintains pool system, supply lines and ancillary fittings in good working order. Ensures the kitchen and associated equipment are working properly and efficiently during the course of duties. Checks and records in a log book, including the quality of the machine. Carries out all work orders and repairs assigned. Effectively communicate the status of completion to ensure a quality guest experience and a defect-free service environment for both colleagues and guests. Carries out shift duties, split shift or when called upon to perform odd duties whenever a person of the same category trade falls sick, is absent from duty or as directed by superiors. Responsible for proper operation of physical plant and all engineering facilities of the entire property in accordance with established policies and procedures, maintenance program and operation schedule. Comply strictly with the proper execution of repairs and established maintenance program, procedures and policies set by higher management. Ensures accurate operating logs according to established policy and procedure. Responsible for order and cleanliness of engineering areas throughout the hotel, ensuring that all safety rules and regulations are adhered to. Maintains strong working relationships with other departments to ensure effective communications for operational issues, and serves as a role model for inter-departmental collaboration and support. Talent Profile Experience in similar roles. Basic computer skills with hands-on experience in room maintenance. Ability to work shift work on a rotational roster.
