The HammondCare Volunteer program is a great way for you to make a meaningful difference to the life of an older person, right here in Darlinghurst. As a Shopping Companion Volunteer, you'll assist a resident in care to attend the local shops in Kings Cross. The role will include pushing her in her wheelchair to the supermarket and returning to Darlinghurst during the morning once a week. Your impact Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated. HammondCare HammondCare is an independent Christian charity and we're passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need. We have a wonderful group of volunteers that partner with us to enhance the lives of people cared for by HammondCare. HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.
