We have a full-time position available with a 1:7 on-call roster. However, flexible or part-time arrangements can be negotiated for the right candidate. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-supported, multidisciplinary team in a modern healthcare facility. About the Role In this role, you will: Provide specialist elective and trauma Shoulder and Elbow services, while also contributing to general orthopaedic trauma management. Perform elective surgeries, as well as general and specialist trauma procedures. Conduct elective and fracture clinics. Supervise and mentor junior doctors. Collaborate closely with our physiotherapy team to optimize patient outcomes. Participate in audit activities, morbidity & mortality (M&M) reviews, and departmental research. About the Hospital This 305-bed hospital serves as the primary referral center for Central Queensland and offers a wide range of specialist medical services, including: Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Cardiology, Renal Medicine, Palliative Care, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation, Geriatrics, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, ENT, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Intensive Care, and Anaesthetics. Additional tertiary hospital visiting services. A state-of-the-art Cancer Care Unit equipped with CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, and oncology suites. The Location: The hospital is located on an idyllic part of the Queensland coast. With over 300 days of sunshine each year there is an abundance of outdoor activities. Popular attractions include Riverbank Parklands, a riverfront parkland attraction, the coastal strip and large neighbouring islands, the vast majority of which is national park. The Requirements: MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist in Orthopaedic Surgery with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA). This will require Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in the specialty of Orthopaedic Surgery, or equivalent recognised qualification. Completion of a Shoulder and Elbow subspecialty fellowship is strongly recommended. Trainee approaching Fellowship. IMG's assessed by RACS and found to be substantially comparable.
