Your future role: Reporting to the Site Quality Manager – Rollingstock, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the right first time is achieved for our local project, as well as ensuring that the manufacturing and test processes are followed. It will ensure that the Rolling Stock is built to specification and that the manufacturing and test records are produced on time and accurately. This is an 18-month fixed-term contract. Alstom has been awarded the PTA Australia’s $1.6 billion Railcar Program. As part of the project, we will design, manufacture and maintain 246 new railcars needed for Metronet projects and the replacement of the A-series trains. We will also deliver 6 DMU (diesel multiple unit) railcars to replace the five diesel railcars that operate the twice-daily Australind service between Perth and Bunbury. A bit about your new role: Manage site IQ activities: Budget, People, Process & Performance Lead APSYS (Alstom Production System) improvement plan for Industrial Quality requirements (Q09 to Q13 items) Ensure regular Process FMEA, Adapted Control Plan & Quality Control Plan updates to improve Zero Defect objective, especially for Special Processes Ensure Digitalization of Controls & Processes using innovations Perform analysis at site level to improve Industrial Quality Performance Escalate the main anomalies detected on the production lines at site level & ensure their effective treatment (Problem Solving tools). Support decision for all Hand Overs (GO / NO GO) & NO GO Veto Right in any case Stop the production if needed for mandatory reasons (e.g. Safety impact needed rework) Lead quality animation methodology deployment, in line with Continuous Improvement system Manage & develop the industrial quality team, using Quality Academy process & yearly training/qualification plan All about you: Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical) or equivalent experience Ability to read drawings/specifications and familiarity with a variety of test equipment Process Knowledge on Quality at Industrial level Proven experience in managing quality tools, Lean Six Sigma, etc. Proven experience in managing teams Knowledgeable of PFMEA and Control Plans ISO9001 Quality Management System experience with Line Auditing What we can offer: Free Gym Memberships Free onsite secure parking Monthly team celebrations 18 weeks parental leave for primary carers & 2 weeks for secondary carers.
