About the Role – 12 month fixed term contract To drive the adoption of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practice and help teams who are dealing with conventional operating models prioritise their shift to automating production and embracing SRE principles. Responsibilities include: Ensure technical solutions are aligned to the EA’s architectural principles, designs and Non-Functional Requirements Work to automate and streamline our operations process Troubleshooting issues in our non-prod and production AWS environments Supporting other engineering teams in the provisioning and delivery of scalable, reliable and cost-effective infrastructure services Contribute to a continuous improvement departmental strategy About the opportunity: Designing and deploying automation solutions to build on expertise from teams’ systems/operations, cloud infrastructure (AWS), build and release engineering, software development and stress/load testing to ensure our services are available, cost-optimized and fit for purpose early in the development lifecycle. Your collaborative style will leverage these essential skills needed: Collaborating respectfully and openly with your direct team and cross-functional support teams Excellent communicator with a passion for continuous improvement and fit for purpose innovations Strong technical skills and experience across: AWS services, Scripting using Unix Shell, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell Proficiency in one or more of the following development languages: Python, JavaScript/TypeScript Proficiency in Unix Shell and/or PowerShell Proficiency in Terraform with the use of modules, remote states, AWS providers Multi-cloud experience or across at least one of AWS, Azure will be highly sought How to Apply If you’re ready to ‘light the way’ towards your next career move, click the 'Apply’ button to submit a confidential application.
