The Role There is an immediate opportunity available for a Social Media Producer with good instincts to contribute to the social media strategy for ABC Canberra. Working with news and radio teams, you will use your well-practiced skills to increase reach across digital platforms and connect our content with existing and new audiences. The Role Will Involve Research, write and edit video content which will engage the audience on existing and emerging social media platforms. Work with commissioning editors, producers and reporters to cover original stories and breaking news for social media. Monitor and analyse data to assess the performance of posts and videos and use that knowledge to inform future decisions around content creation, engagement and growing our audience. About You You have the proven ability and experience to tell stories in a creative and original way for social platforms. You can confidently produce and prepare news content for social media platforms, including video content. You have a good grasp of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube, and know your way around social and web analytics to keep up to date with audience trends. You Will Also Be Able To Provide Strong storytelling skills – knowing what will make a social audience stop scrolling and engage with our content. Sound experience curating content and contributing to social media for a news media organisation. Accomplished ability in analysing metrics related to engagement and reach and use these in decision making. Thorough understanding of how to identify opportunities to grow and engage audiences for news and information on social media platforms, particularly Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. Experience in digital production, particularly photo and video editing, strongly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of shifting audience habits and how they use mobile devices. Effective teamwork, communication, and time management skills to operate effectively in a busy news and information production environment. What We Can Offer You 15.4% ABC Nominated Super.
