The ACVVS program is a great way for you to make a meaningful difference in the life of an older person, right here in the Illawarra. Your Role: Spend time with an elderly resident who is seeking a friendly visitor to catch up for weekly or fortnightly chats. Enjoy a wander around the garden, a game of cards, or simply chatting together over a cuppa during your visits. Your Impact: Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit and for yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated. About HammondCare: HammondCare is an independent Christian charity, and we're passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need. We have a wonderful group of volunteers that partner with us to enhance the lives of the clients cared for by HammondCare. HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government, established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.
